Those of you who have followed our blog for a while, know that we have a long running rivalry with our Florida friends and neighbors every year around the Tennessee vs. Florida football game. This year a new tradition began as we hosted the First Annual Tennessee/Florida Cornhole Classic at our house. If you don't know what cornhole is (I didn't), it's a popular tailgate game. We had about 25-30 people join in on the fun with trophies and cash prizes for the winning team. Everyone had a great time! The rivalry started early on Friday as I noticed one of our neighbors had hung a banner the size of their house outside that said "We need Gator bait, any Volunteers?"! Our great friends Jason and Robin, and Jeremy and Mary Glenn flew in for the event and we all headed to Gainesville on Saturday for the game. Though the outcome wasn't exactly as we would have liked, it was a pretty good game. It was so hot in the stadium, that the girls headed back to the car during the 4th quarter to wait on the guys. On our way back, we found a REAL Gator doing a little tailgating of his own! We stopped long enough to take a picture, then made a mad dash for our car. Luckily, he was not camped out at our tailgate! We look forward to what Tennessee has in store for us the rest of this season!
