The End of an Era...

You hear stories all of the time and hope it will never happen to you. Well...our time is up! When Jay and I returned home from a night out last night, the babysitter regrettfully informed us that Brooks had gone to the bathroom by himself, and emerged with a rather large chunk of hair missing right in the middle of his forehead! When he woke up and came into our room this morning, we knew it was coming. He was very upset that he disobeyed, but not nearly as upset as I was to lose this beautiful lock of hair! Brooks' thick curly hair has been and always will be one of my favorite things about him. He cut it so short in the front that we had no choice but to take him to get it cut and even it out. I almost cried when the hairstylist pulled out the electric clippers. We have only trimmed slightly with scissors until today. She started in the back, though, and before I realized how short she was going, it was too late! I am still not quite over it, but Brooks has already moved on. Here is a glimpse at the evolution of Brooks' hair.

Support Me in the Fight Against Cancer!

Dear Friends and Family,

On December 11th, 2010 I’m participating in the Kiawah Island Half Marathon as a member of Fred’s Team to support research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. I have never before run a half marathon, so this will be a challenge for me! I know, however, that my challenges over the next few months as I prepare for this race are nothing in comparison to the challenges that cancer patients face daily as they literally run for their life in the race against cancer. Thank you for your support! Your emotional, motivational, and prayerful support is as important to me as your financial. If you are able to give, I hope you will do so! If not, I hope that you will join me in praying daily for those who are fighting against cancer.

I joined Fred’s Team to help make a difference in the fight against cancer, and I hope you will make a donation to support my cause. Since 1995, Fred's Team has generated more than $38 million for pioneering research, leading to new insights and more effective, less toxic therapies for patients treated at MSKCC and at institutions all over the world.

The link below will bring you to my Fred’s Team Web page, where you can make a tax-deductible online donation.

Thank you so much!

Meg

Back to School

Elle started 2nd grade last week! I can't believe how fast they are growing up. Brooks and Miles are both going to a wonderful academy that we are very happy with. Brooks gets to wear a uniform and thinks that's cool. Miles amazingly sits at a table with no high chair for meals, and naps on a mat with no bars holding him in. I will never know how they do it! It took a couple of weeks to get adjusted (for all of us!) since this is the first time they have been in full time childcare outside of our home, but they have done beautifully! Elle loves her new teacher and is doing great. It is such a blessing to have a job where I can go to school with her each day!
